About Us

The DC Poetry Collective started in 2006 as a weekly workshop at the National Portrait Gallery in Washington, D.C. Ever since the start of COVID-19, we’ve met in a virtual space — allowing our small collective to find new friends and contributors outside the nation’s capitol.

The alienation caused by COVID-19 has caused poetry to emerge with new urgency and vitality. Meeting virtually has enabled us to stay connected and active as a community with a shared passion and a dedication to refining our craft. Find out about upcoming workshops at meetup.com.

Within the diversity of voices in our group, we feel we have much give you — newcomers, fellow writers, or obsessive readers of poetry! Check out our book, iNK Blots, Vol. 1, or reach out for inquiries about our group.
